The industry taxonomy used to organize assets and endpoints in the marketplace and to choose default placeholder imagery.
Industry Categories
Every asset and endpoint can be tagged with an industry. The industry is a fixed taxonomy, rooted in NAICS sectors and extended with the verticals Spartera supports, and it does two jobs in the platform.
What the industry controls
Marketplace organization. Buyers browse and filter the marketplace by industry, so the tag is how your asset or endpoint gets discovered alongside its peers.
Default placeholder image. When a listing has no custom image, the marketplace renders a default tile chosen from the assigned industry (keyed off the industry slug). Setting an accurate industry gives an untouched listing a sensible image instead of a generic one.
Assigning an industry
Set the industry_id field when you create or update an asset or endpoint. The ID is the first column in the tables below.

Choosing the right one
Pick the most specific industry that fits. If nothing specific applies, fall back to the broad NAICS sector under Core Industry Sectors. A precise tag improves both discovery and the default image, so prefer Fintech over Finance when it actually describes the data.

All values below are active. The slug is stable and safe to reference; the ID is what the API expects in industry_id.
